Our training is based on a model that helps your staff or volunteers learn how to help others.
How does it work?
It’s hard to generalise as the programme is so adaptable. But in general:
- We train people in your organisation to become Digital Champions.
- They get the confidence, skills and resources they need to teach digital skills.
- The Champions then help other people to learn digital skills, so they can thrive in a digital world.
We don’t train your end learners. We train your Champions. And each one can go onto help hundreds of other people.
Why does it work?
Creating a Digital Champions programme inside your organisation is hugely effective because it enables you to:
- Support a lot of people in a short space of time and in a sustainable way.
- Embed digital transformation within your organisation, in a way you can scale, own and distribute.
- Improve staff and volunteer skills, well-being and boost their personal development.
- Make it easy for customers and services users to enhance their own skills and access digital services.
- Help improve employability, earning power and life chances for everyone!
Digital Champions making a difference at..
... a GP Surgery
Marie works in an admin role at a GP surgery where some patients struggle to use NHS digital services. She's a member of the Digital Champions Network.
Once a week she runs a drop-in where she helps people learn to use the NHS app and re-order prescriptions online. When she’s dealing with people on the phone, she knows how to help them remotely.
Including Champions as part of our strategy has been very helpful. Champions help to extend reach, bring diverse perspectives and skills, grow our capacity for supporting people in our communities.

... helping friends & family
Lara works at a large media company. She’s done the Inspire course and made a pledge to help her mum learn how to bank online.
Once a week they do half an hour of learning together. Lara now realises how vital this skill is, and understands more about how to help her mum learn. Her pledge is complete when her mum feels confident using a banking app.
.. in a charity
Dee is a volunteer at a community organisation that helps people get back into work after a long absence. She's a member of the Digital Champions Network. She runs a group that meets weekly for eight weeks, helping beneficiaries get the skills and confidence to look and apply for work - which is all online these days.
I get such a sense of satisfaction when I see a learner do something they didn’t think they could do before. It is so rewarding watching people getting things to work the way they want them to.
